For Photographers: Colors of Morocco - 9 Days

Day 1: Casablanca

Transfer from the Casablanca airport to your Hotel or Riad. Free time. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

After breakfast we will make a panoramic visit of Casablanca, a modern city full of life. We will see the Plaza de la Liga Árabe, Plaza de Mohammed V, the Anfa district, the Boulevard de la Corniche that runs alongside the sea and the famous work of the Mosque of Hassan II, whose minaret is considered the highest in the world. Then we will leave for Rabat, capital of the Kingdom of Morocco since 1912. We will see the Royal Palace “Dar el Makhzen” which houses the Mosque of “Men of Fez”. We can also visit the Kasbah of the Oudaias. Lunch (optional). Later we will continue our journey until we reach Chefchaouen. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

Breakfast. Visit the beautiful Chefchaouen, with its white houses and doors of intense blue.

We will continue to Volubilis, Roman city that already appeared in the maps in the s. IV a. C. in which its columns and mosaics stand out. Then we will go to the imperial city of Meknes.

Its first inhabitants were the “Meknasies”, a Berber tribe that settled in the tenth century and gave the city its name. In the 17th century, Mulai Ismail established the capital of Morocco here. We will visit its walls and its gates like Bab Mansur and the Aghal pond, with an area of four hectares. Later we will leave towards Fez. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: Fez

Breakfast. This day we will dedicate to know Fez (official guide). We will visit the golden gates of the Royal Palace built in bronze, the old Medina with its Medersa de Bou Anania, the beautiful Nejjarine fountain, the Karaouine Mosque, one of the main cultural centers of Islam and the headquarters of the University of Fez and Breakfast. 

This day we will dedicate to know Fez (official guide). We will visit the golden doors of the Royal Palace built in bronze, the old Medina with its Medersa de Bou Anania, the beautiful Nejjarine fountain, the Karaouine Mosque, one of the main cultural centers of Islam and the headquarters of the University of Fez and the Mulay Mausoleum Idriss We will also stop at the famous district of the tanners, unique in the world. Lunch (optional). Free time in the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud (Desert of Merzouga option)

Breakfast. We will leave from Fez crossing the Atlas to Midelt. We will continue by an interesting route impregnated with Berber life. Lunch (optional). Arrival in Erfoud, known for being land with fossil deposits. Dinner and accommodation.

Merzouga option: Passing through Erfoud we will go to Merzouga, where the caravans of the desert await us for a dromedary adventure through the dunes. We will spend the night in a camp enjoying the Berber food and a starry night and we will sleep in a traditional jayma. The next day, after seeing the sunrise we will return to Erfoud.

Day 6: Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Kasbah Route – Kella M’Gouna – Ouarzazate

Breakfast. We will continue our journey through the incredible Gorges of Todra, two cliffs over 300 m high, separated at their narrowest by a 20m corridor. We will continue along the route of the Thousand Kasbahs. Lunch (optional). We will continue to Ouarzazate via Kella M’Gouna, famous for its roses and perfumes. Dinner and accommodation.
 

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Breakfast. Panoramic visit and stop at the Kasbah de Taourirt. Following our journey we will visit the impressive Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco since 1987 and which has served as a setting for well-known world cinema films. Lunch (optional). Then we will continue towards Marrakech. Arrival, dinner and accommodation.

 

Day 8: Marrakech

Breakfast. Today we will dedicate it to know Marrakech (official guide). “The Red City” or also called “The Pearl of the South” is one of the most important cities in Morocco. Founded in 1062, it became the capital of the Islamic world. Many of its monuments are recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO. It is an unmissable destination for travelers who feel passion for history, religious heritage and cultural spaces. You can not miss the Jamaa el Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, or wander into the Medina and stroll through the labyrinth of alleyways that make up the famous souk of Marrakech. Free time in the afternoon. Accommodation.
 
 

Day 9: Marrakech

Breakfast and transfer to Marrakech airport.
